Meet Stephanie…
My name is Stephanie! I am a Co-Founder, of this business, and spearhead of the operation. It is my breath of life, to say the least… My thought of starting up Terra Mater Village has been a daydream (and a goal) since it first struck, in 2017. As of now, close to five years later, my idea has evolved substantially…
During the beginning phases of this plan, I had vision to [simply] launch a yoga studio, teach some classes, hire a few independently-contracted yoga teachers, and run a part-time boutique (with reasonable prices), probably in an old building with my apartment just above. However, my idea came to full bloom when I met Tyler: the Love of my Life… Tyler adds a certain “spice” to my business idea, which I could never have administered on my own. To date, as well, he has added a baby boy (Tyler Jr.), a vivacious toddler daughter (Lita) and a beautiful step-daughter (Izzy) to my life… Tyler (Sr.) is an exceptional person, altogether, and we are a well-suited match for each other. In tandem, we will surely flourish!
Deep within me, I have always known that I would lead a movement… I have an insatiable drive. I have a willingness to succeed. I am a very well-organized individual, and I have a tendency to over-prepare. I am proactive in my hustling, because I understand that action is the answer. When I see a chore (or task) that needs to be completed, I will determine a solution and put a plan into action. I am a go-getter, in every respect… and I believe that dreams are possible to achieve!
Equally so, I believe in the power of working together (as a team), and I have seen how there is an immense strength within a community that unites. In one meaningful way or another, there is a manner in which we can all contribute to the world in our lifetime… Overall, it is a proud feeling to be a part of something that matters.
…As I searched for an occupation that would make for a meaningful impact, I envisioned taking control of my life. I knew that I sought to align my passions and talents, and I wanted to make a lasting impression on every person. I first studied in the field of Education (K—8), between 2006 and 2011, while attending Spokane Falls Community College and [then] Eastern Oregon University. I learned many technical and tactical skills, during my schooling. Experience has been a great teacher… In time, however, I came to realize that a career in Education was not my path to travel. As it seemed, our Universe had other plans in store for me…
Yoga, with its lifestyle, has a special place in my heart. My older sister first introduced me to the practice, in 2002, and I was immediately captivated. After my career choice in Education had taken a turn, I searched for a goal that could fulfill me for a lifetime. It was in June of 2018 that I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program, with Harmony Yoga (in Spokane, Washington). The course met all requirements of the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 curriculum standards, and my teaching credentials have been registered with the Yoga Alliance organization. (…Regardless of this training, nonetheless, I will always consider myself a student of yoga).
While it can be a struggle to follow-through on efforts of exercising and eating well, both can have a direct correlation with the health of our bodies. All things considered, exercise can be deeply satisfying and healthy food can taste amazing! As well, I believe there are hidden secrets within the mystery of Meditation and mindfulness. I want to surround my family with this lifestyle, of continual self-care, and I hope to provide a gathering place where like-minded people can experience (and learn) the shift, too.
If you know me, then you know that I love people. Along with a deep sense of empathy, I feel the duty to nurture, care for, and encourage those who are in my life. Forwardly speaking, a career in Hospitality (i.e. running a Bed and Breakfast, or the like) has always intrigued me… As well, my communication abilities are strong and I strive to maintain a sense of order amidst any chaos. With my direction and leadership skills, and genuine love for humankind, I feel that Terra Mater Village (“An Earthy Retreat Center for Spiritual Wellness and Yoga”) is a unique way to implement my strong suits in life… I look forward to this challenge, and I am grateful to have the opportunity!
My name is Steph, I am a co-founder of this dream, and I appreciate your time in reviewing our cause!!
